We have found ourselves in the midst of another heat & humidity wave, which can slow us down quite a bit since our house only has limited air conditioning. This morning, however, Trevor and Aubrey didn’t let it keep them from being surprisingly productive. I came home from work to find the dishes washed, the garden watered and weeded, the laundry underway, and the 2-week menu and grocery list already created. But these are not the biggest victories of the day.
First off, we now have beautiful peas ready to be picked and eaten and they are some of the most delicious peas I’ve ever tasted.
The other, even bigger news, involves Aubrey’s big summer project, which is potty training. She’s been wearing underwear with confidence for a couple months now, almost always making it to the toilet in time when she needs to go number 1. She’s struggled with being willing to do this for number 2, however- until today, when she used the facilities with pride and gusto.
We watched the women’s world cup game yesterday at an Irish bar in town. We were sad when the US lost in the shoot out, but loved the experience of being in a room full of other soccer fans (something that can be hard to come by in this part of the world). We have sold our first skein of yarn and look forward to seeing the scarf that it is destined to become. Hope to create some business cards soon.
